Boccia Open Play
Come try the Paralympic Sport of Boccia! Boccia is a throwing sport of precision which has been adapted for athletes with mild to severe physical disabilities using a few modifications. The object is to place balls closest to the target ball by throwing or rolling the ball using a ramp. Games are played one on one, in pairs, and teams of three. All are welcome to learn this game of skill and strategy! There will be 1 session from 2:00PM -3:30PM. Preregistration is required. Seated Yoga
Seated Yoga
Join us for some Seated Yoga Classes. Classes will be on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026 , Jan. 22, Feb. 5, Feb. 19, March 5, and March 26, 2026 from 6-7PM at Gaylord Specialty Healthcare in Wallingford or virtually via Zoom. These seated yoga classes will incorporate gentle yoga postures, movement sequences, breath work, flexibility and guided meditation to help you focus clearly, move mindfully and practice gratitude.
Classes are open to participants with a permanent physical disability or visual impairment. No experience is needed; just have your chair ready and have fun!

Adaptive Cycle Clinic
Cycle Clinic
The Gaylord Sports Association is teaming up with local adaptive cycling providers and Southern Connecticut State
University for our annual Adaptive Cycle Clinic! This clinic is designed for individuals with a physical disability or visual impairment who are interested in learning about a wide range of adaptive cycling options. Participants will have the opportunity to explore dozens of adaptive cycles, including foot-pedaled trikes, handcycles and adaptive mountain bikes. Experts in adaptive cycling will be on hand
to assist with individualized fittings and help participants identify cycles that best match their abilities and goals.
Test rides will be available on the indoor track, allowing participants to experience different models in a safe and
supportive environment.

Archery clinics are designed for individuals to learn about and participate in the sport of archery. Participants will receive instruction from a Level IV Certified USA Archery Coach as well as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to give the best possible instruction and support independence. We welcome first-timers, beginners and advanced archers. Instruction will be tailored based on your ability. Standard and adaptive equipment are provided. Pre-registration is required. Adaptive Climbing Clinic

Join the Gaylord Sports Association, in partnership with Ascent Climbing, for our annual Adaptive Rock Climbing
Clinic at Central Rock Gym in Glastonbury. Experience the excitement of indoor rock climbing alongside professional
and experienced climbers in a fun, supportive environment. Participants of all ability levels, whether climbing seated or
standing, will receive individualized instruction and learn specialized techniques to support independence. Standard climbing equipment and adaptive options, including specialized harnesses and prosthetic climbing feet, will be available as needed. No prior climbing experience required!
Golf Clinic
Golf Clinic
The adaptive golf clinic provides an opportunity to try the sport or to return to playing golf. Instruction is provided by a trained PGA professional, Certified Recreation Therapists and volunteers who will help you to maximize your independence and improve your skills. The clinic is set-up in several stations including a driving station and putting station. Beginners and returning golfers are welcome and all equipment is provided, including adaptive golf cart if needed. Pre-registration is required. Paratriathlon Discovery Night
Paratriathlon Discovery Night
Join us on Wednesday, April 23 at 6:00 PM for our Paratriathlon Discovery Night. The program will include a presentation about the sport, demonstration of equipment, an opportunity to meet the coach and information on applying for the Paratriathlon Training Program. This event is open to anyone who is interested in learning about paratriathlon and the Gaylord Sports Association Paratriathlon Training Program. The Veterans Fishing Tournaments are open water bass tournaments for veterans or service members with a permanent physical disability, visual impairment or PTSD. Each veteran will be paired with an experienced angler and boat captain for a day on the water. The tournament includes all fishing equipment, a weigh-in and an awards luncheon. Prizes are awarded for the top 3 weights.
This event is organized in collaboration with the Major Steven “Roy” Andrews Fishing Outreach Program and CT Bass Nation.
This program is funded in part by a grant from the United States Department of Veteran Affairs in partnership with Move United Warfighter Sports Program and is offered at NO COST for veterans.
